Parents Guide to INSIGHT
INSIGHT provides parents real-time access to a range of student specific information. This includes:
- Student details
- A student’s timetable and teachers
- A record of positive and negative behaviours
- An attendance summary
- Parental contact details with an update facility
Future developments for INSIGHT include:
- An online system for booking meetings at parent evenings
- Details of homework with deadlines and a record that it has been handed in
- Assessment grades and termly reports.

My insight App is not working?
We have recently changed the insight URL, this may cause the app to stop working.
Please check that the app is configured correctly to the new URL.
- Open the app
- Click the Cogg in the top right corner
- Under “Insight web address” it should say: https://insight.newbridgesch.uk:1590 (You can type this in or scan the QR code above)
I am unable to login, how do I find out my email address and/or password?
If you cannot remember your email address you registered with the school, please get in touch with us on 01530 831561. Your password will have been emailed to you at your registered email address. If you have changed your password and later forget it, you can reset it on the INSIGHT home page by clicking on the ‘Don’t know your password’ link
How do I change my INSIGHT password?
Once you are logged into INSIGHT, click on your name in the top right hand corner. You will see a link that says ‘Change Password’. Type a new password and then repeat it in the second box. The new password must be at least seven characters. Click OK to confirm your new password.
My child’s attendance appears like it’s missing or incorrect?
In very rare instances, a member of staff may not be able to record your child’s attendance onto the system. There could be a number of different reasons for this, however only contact the school if you are concerned. Our dedicated attendance and pastoral administrator monitors lesson attendance closely and chases up any incomplete or missing register marks.
I have more than one child, how do I view my other child’s information?
If you have more than one child who attends Newbridge and you wish to view their information, click on your child’s name at the top left hand corner of the screen. A drop down menu will open showing you all your children, click on your child that you wish to view. (See screenshot below) If only one of your children is displayed, please contact the school.
Shared household accounts, separated families, personal details
If parents are living at the same address, then you will both share the same login details to access your children’s information. Only if you are a parent that is not co-habiting, you will receive a separate password. By default, INSIGHT creates users from the 1st contact we have held on our system.
How do I report my child’s absence?
If your child has been absent from school within the last 24 hours, you can provide school with a reason for their absence via INSIGHT. Login using your email address and password, then click on Attendance > Report Absence. For an absence in the last 24 hours select ‘Historical absence’. If you are aware of a future absence that will be occurring in the future such as a medical appointment, you can make the school aware of it by selecting ‘Planned absence’ and filling out the details. You cannot use the report absence feature to inform the school regarding a holiday in term time. You will still need to fill in the required paper based holiday request form.
How do I change my child’s or my personal details?
INSIGHT allows you to keep the school up to date with your current details. If you spot any errors or your personal circumstances change, please get in touch with the school.
Viewing INSIGHT via your tablet or mobile device
Please be aware, not all mobile devices support the INSIGHT website. Although devices such as an iPad will allow you to use INSIGHT, it is optimised for use on desktop computers and laptops using Google Chrome or Firefox web browsers preferably. If you login using a table or mobile device you may find that not all functions of INSIGHT may work.
I’m trying to view my child’s report, however it won’t display because Adobe Reader isn’t installed, what do I do?
You will need to install Adobe Reader onto your computer before INSIGHT can display your child’s report. Go to: https://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/ and untick the optional offers before proceeding to click ‘Install now’.
